Register or Login to view. from CGM 836 (f128r-148v) looks to be the same scribe. There is heavy use of the same curved 'j' in words like 'ich', perhaps theres context for the L's in there.
It could be a contraction: aberiŁ -> aberil(len).
so in der himel' der himellen (CGM 836, 131r, scan 265)
dem himel' (CGM 836, 137v, scan 278)

So, Luxemburg modern main language (Lëtzebuergesch) has "Abrëll" and is a region where French and Dutch is strong. There should be a French dialect of Luxemburg around 1400 that is mostly French but has Dutch influence and borrows the Abrëll from Luxembourgish.

But i'm very bad at this. The idea was to find an old "Abrëll" from a Luxemburg manuscript to compare, but i'm lost. I can't find anything relevant and sunday went by so fast... Is this a good lead to keep searching? -

Absolutely, luxembourg manuscripts are a good lead. However, the trick is being able to find month names written down in text without scanning every page of every manuscript (each manuscript can be 100s of pages, and there are 100s of manuscripts). That's why most of the entries are from works marked as calendars in some way.
If you want to go through each manuscript anyway, the next best thing is searching through the thumbnails for the pages and looking for "calendar-like" pages (often with KL in the top left), pages with paragraph breaks and subtitles (often in red), or pages with tables and astronomical diagrams. Walls of text are generally better to avoid, other than maybe the first/last page of a chapter to check the topic.

But even that tends to take a while. If you can narrow down the search somehow (date, language, topic) you are way more likely to find something. -

@eggyk Thank you! I see now, one needs some short of discipline, cause i always end up with the curiosity to find "apox liber" or something or just get curios about the coloring or drawings; had a lot of troubles after understanding some of the words because how archaic the thinking is and gives me a headache, i guess one needs a special type of mentality when entering in the believes of medieval times, that is also a reason why i don't want to understand or fully read the contents of the texts. Ok, gona keep trying and see if something happens. thanks again. -

Is the -en a grammatical suffix, so that the uninflected form would be Aberil?
Edit: I see it is supposed to be the genitive of Aberille, sorry I missed that bit. Does it make sense? -

The sentence is "Als aberillen wett' vert ir wille" in the original, in 1888 it's "Als abrillen weter vert ir wille".
Google AI translates it as "Her will changes like april weather", so I suppose its something like "Like april weather goes her will", meaning that it (her will) is unpredictable, or changes quickly like weather in April.
So, i guess yes it makes sense as the genitive case in that sentence as the weather belongs to/is of April. It actually makes more sense than the months being pluralised.
Edit: Many of the entries on the spreadsheet have this form for many of the months, and haven't been explicitly noted as it's so common. It's really common to see a format like:
mertz
In dem mertzen...
or
von dem mertzen
Der mertz ist..
But this doesn't apply to all of the months equally. Jenner, Hornung, brachmonat, hewmonat, herbstmonat, weinmonat, wintermonat, cristmonat do not follow that pattern afaik. Only mertz, aprille, may, and rarely augst.
