  I notice that the start of You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. both have the word kydaiin and kydaiiny of which, they are both hapax legonomen and possibly are related. In addition, the plant is called Centaurea Cyanus, which was related to the late Stephen's Bax theory on the MS.

  If I remember correctly, prof Bax's theory was that this word is the name of the plant.

  Indeed, but I find it interesting that's it repeats again, and is at the start of both paragraphs. We can therefore state that Kydaiin(y) is linked to this page

  Interesting, do you think the addition is similar to the doppelganger Latin abbreviations? Might it be plural, or encompass the genus, ie. others like it? Have you found similar instances of this pattern on other pages?
  
  C. cyanus isn't too likely in my thinking, by the way, since cyanus means blue. Although bachelor buttons are now found in many colours, this is likely a more modern occurrence of purposeful selection and hybridization. Plus they are flatter than the drawings suggest, hence the common name. Since they had blue pigments, why would they make it pink. Consider C.maculata, C.jacea, or C.nigra, among others, if you like the Centaurea part of it, they are pinkish and more matching to the drawings. Today the genus contains over 700 species, although you can probably weed out the reds, yellows, spiky, silverleafed and others, you would still end up with lots to choose from, not to mention lookalikes from other families of plants.

  Stephen Bax entertained the idea that the top word was "Centauria". The second one was then "Centaur", with the next word being "Chiron". 
  From this he thought maybe the top paragraph was a literal description of the plant and the second paragraph was discussing the origins as the Centaur Chiron was associated with Centauria.
