Word Fitting

[MarcoP]

Thank you, VViews, very interesting!
I just got misled by the You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. instead of You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.
At the moment I have no idea and I cannot usefully comment. I am curious to read more about the subject.

My questions remain: what can these "titles" be? What is their role? Why is their layout like that?

In f1r, those would fit quite naturally into one of two roles - section titles or page numbers, assuming that You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. serves to provide an abstract of the whole book.

In other folios these right-aligned blocks look more enigmatically. An interesting possibility is that the Voynichese text on a page is not put down sequentially, but rather in several passes. In that case, what we observe here would stand for vacant spaces not filled in (for an unknown reason). If anyone ever examines the "several passes" hypothesis, these vacant spaces could be most essential input data.
