You are thinking of (dc vb') de über.
Here, ‘de’ is a written dialect form of “der”. This is normal in Zurich; that's how we say it. ‘de’.

I think such peculiarities in writing disappeared with the advent of printing.

Do you think that book printing could have led to the writing style and spelling variations by hand being adapted to the book printer and their spelling?
So that after 1500, standardisation took place?

For me, that means I only read books from before 1450.
