So get posting guys, I want a badge

Dear David
I am sure the forum will be there sooner than you may think! BTW, in addition to Anton's announcement re recognition, please be sure that you are already recognised by the users here!
Thanks to you, and all your co-admin and editors, you created a fabulous source and forum for all things 'Voynich' - that is the true highlight of the year and I wish you & the entire admin team for 2017 continued success and plenty more users and posts (real ones of course).

To David and all Mods,

Thanks for allowing me to express myself here.  I'm learning a great deal.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Although I'm enjoying the adultation   let's try to keep the thread on topic - points in which Voynich studies have moved forward in one or another way.

[Diane]

Now that I have seen this thread, I must say that I'm happy to see how many people have come to accept the general idea that some details in the imagery have mnemonic purpose.

However I would yet again urge that anyone who adopts this opinion does not treat it as an "idea" which can be applied ad.lib. but that they take the time and trouble to study the subject as an aspect of ancient and medieval culture.

As ever, I urge readers to begin by reading  - in fact, studying - Mary Carruthers' works.

In her "Book of Memory" - which revolutionised this study, she also treats Hugh of St.Victor's Didascalion, a translation of which is available through the internet archive:

Another invaluable work by Carruthers:-

There's one more new Voynich event in December - a You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. by Julian.
