There are many ways to transcribe the Voynich text, none inherently better than the others (but some easier to use than others) and none free from more-or-less hidden assumptions. So the best advice I could give is to make sure to know what your assumptions are when deciding what counts as a glyph or not. (Sincerely) Good luck!
Thank you for your advice! I’ve already made some adjustments to VAM.
I made it 17 characters in total.
My main goal is to make the original text easier to search and analyze, so I try to avoid unnecessary transliteration choices, especially when they do not help with that goal.
I’m beginning to realize that the circular diagrams may contain quite a few keywords. Being able to search for specific words and then locate them in the corresponding diagrams could be a very useful approach to deciphering the manuscript.
I want VAM to make this kind of investigation possible while staying as close as possible to the original glyphs.
