Month names collection / metastudy

[eggyk]

Another aougst, this time not a one off in a calendar, but rather used consistently through the entirety of this very nice (and very long) scroll:

1461-1483AD
France, Paris

According to You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view., the language is "Anglo-norman french", but i'm not sure exactly what that means given that it is from the 2nd half of the 15th century. The rest of the sequence uses the "standard" french names.

That's the 5th handwritten aougst entry now, most of which are in the second half of the 15th century (one is from 1520AD). I'm not sure if there's anything in particular that links them, other than most being from northern france.

The expert for the dating and research for the various versions of this text (Chronique anonyme universelle) is actually @LisaFaginDavis, so.. if she happens to see this,  thanks for the dating for this entry! But secondly if there's any information on which other copies contain the sections nearer to the bottom (which frequently contain specific month names, instead of just totals for months/days) it would be greatly appreciated! To go through every fragment and scan the entire text without knowledge of exactly which bit is which will take a very, very long time.

It would be quite insightful to be able to see if/how these month names were copied between different versions of this text.

Also, Biblissima and ARCA are back! No JONAS or Initiale yet, but at least I can start adding some french entries from my backlog
