Martini was born in 1439, 6 years after Taccola finished Palatino 766 (which is believed to not have been in his possession shortly afterwards). Martini was a pupil of Lorenzo di Pietro (Vecchietta). The first record of his work as an artist is from 1464, more than ten years after Taccola's death in ~1453. Martini was around 15 when Taccola died. This does not add up.
