x to me seems reeks like an on-the-fly addition to the glyphset ca. the A→B transition though I could be wrong

I 100% agree on x. If my chronology is right and f57/f58 are roughly in the center, then x does appear to be a new invention in either rosettes or f57. You are not allowed to view links. Its when they made it up, it was popular, but that popularity almost immediately started to fade until they abandoned it.

There are other symbols of both f57 and f66 that never get repeated again.
