Hi, all.
I have sent Koen a message regarding an initial investigation on transalpine swallotail merlons.
My idea is to check places that somehow have been connected to VMS, adding to the work done by many here. I have started this search by Prague.
He gently pointed me to check this thread to which Pierre Dumont has made many contributions (among all), so I have checked all 62 pages of posts to understand how the map has evolved.
A few reference posts I found that I would like to mention were:

Regarding the search for Prague swallowtail merlons, I could find two candidates:
CANDIDATE 1) Mihulka Powder Tower - Prague Castle
Vikářská 38, 119 00 Praha 1-Hradčany, Czechia

At You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. it states that "the current tower was built at the end of the 15th century".
So this is candidate did not pass the "pre-1450" test.
CANDIDATE 2) Hunger Wall

this search indicates some pictures such as:

that shows swallowtail merlons.
Hartmann Schedel's Liber Chronicarum (commonly known as the Nuremberg Chronicle) published the 1493 You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view., a double-page woodcut prospect. This image does not show swallowtail merlons which indicates that these were probably part of later reconstruction.
So this is candidate did not pass the "pre-1450" test.
I will still search for other possible transalpine swallowtail merlons.
After this initial work, I would like to propose an addition to the You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. .
Today this map has categories:
-"non-manuscript art"
-"Buildings with swallowtail merlons"
-"manuscript art"
-"uncertain/unclear buildings"
I would suggest adding another category:
-"post-1450 buildings with swallotail merlons"
The reason for this is to help quickly answer the question of any new post/request of addition to the map:
"has anyone ever considered this swallowtail merlon 'XYZ' that I found?"
With this new category, the 'negative' / 'discarded' cases (such as both I presented) will be clearly documented on the map and no one needs to spend time discussing/researching them again.
These are not the "uncertain cases" but are truly cases that have been discarded before. All positive, negative, and unknown cases will have a record.
Best regards,
Marcos
