I think it's very important to consider the actual creation dates of the manuscripts (if known). Kyeser's Bellifortis (created 1402-1405) is significantly older than Taccola's or Martini's works, but many of the Kyeser manuscripts that survived were made relatively late, post-dating at least Taccola. I once tried to chronologically sort the imagery, but quickly gave up. It's all a big mess.
