Perhaps this represents a volvelle being replaced wholly, or maybe just one ring with suffixes. This is only if you're open to it though - no pressure either way. I don't have the capacity to contribute, so one day I'll just dump my old ideas into a new post in case it inspires anyone else. Up to you if you want to think about any of my ideas so far!

I am currently wrapping up several days worth of work on a system to track exactly these types of changes across the golf 2.1 regime/section sequence.

I am attempting to see if there is any evolution sequence that preserves information across transformations. If i can find one, then I think the gradient is not really proof one way or another about meaning.

I am testing multiple different generator ideas as controls, including Timm's self-citation model. I think a volvelle type control would be interesting. I would need some additional coding to try to optimize or find volvelle settings, but I think that is doable and would be a useful/interesting control.

I may expand this to attempt a full bifolia level, but calibration bootstraps there would take much longer due to having to consider the possibility of different orderings. You are not allowed to view links.
