Repetition as a positive aesthetic quality
#6
The problem i have accepting this theory, is that all of your proposed explanations conflict with each other. If he is getting tired, an can rest, then a lack of creative energy doesn't seem like a good explanation.

If it is the author's mistakes, and not the scribes, then all of your points about Scribe B losing energy doesn't make sense.

Each explanation invalidates the other two, and none accounts for all 3 points collectively.

The larger issue though, is that copying requires no creative energy at all, and it is trivial to copy in a way that does not produce direct repetitions. The overhead of looking at a different word while writing is virtually nothing compared to the actual writing itself. The repetitions don't meaningfully alter the amount of work or effort involved.
