An e on the end of april is quite rare (unless I didn't mark them, but I think I generally did). It's mostly found in lower saxon/dutch, but otherwise you only really see in areas along the Rhine river, you have one in strasbourg, maulbronn, and contstance. 

But we see apprillen -> apprill often, and we have at least one example of abrellen being shortened to abrell, so the 19thC reference might just be wrong about the e. 

I assume you used the OCR search in some way?

The OCR actually reads 'averillen', which I can't believe I haven't tried at some point. Searching that into MDZ gets the original immediately. I wonder what other things we haven't tried? 

But no, finding this one was both lucky and all over the place.

-Was looking at the report for cgm 596,
-Saw a line mentioning similar passages in cgm 430, 
-Searched "cgm 430" into MDZ library, 
-Found an OCR hit in a 19thC book referencing "cgm 430" in the context of 'prochmond',
-Went back a couple pages to 'Aprelis', saw 'aberille' by chance, referenced to a manuscript: "Lichtenst. Frd. 417, 27",
-Found no hits for a manuscript with that name,
-Argued with google AI for 20 minutes as it sent me to every digital library in existence,
-Eventually worked out the reference was a book based on cgm 44, 
-Found section 417 in that book along with the chapter title of the section,
-Scanned through the chapters in the original until I found it, 
-wasn't even aberille
