In the meantime, updated versions of both ivtt and bitrans have been made available at my web site (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.).
ivtt was updated to v. 2.4 in September, resolving bugs related to specific combinations of options.
bitrans has been updated to v. 1.5 today, resolving similar types of bugs, and adding an option to indicate if any part of an input file was not affected by the substitution rules.
I am grateful to Jim Reeds who used both tools and provided valuable feedback.
Both user manuals were updated to reflect the changes.
A zip file of all published bitrans tables has been added for more convenient download.
