Dragons, Dogs & Amadillos?

Scallop-line-dot is one of those things I've wanted to look into for a while now but never got around to. Once you know it, you see it in a lot of places. Scallop or dot can be omitted, and for example line-dot can repeat, but it's always in this order.

I have a very specific parallel in mind, based primarily on the two-birds page, but I hope nobody finds this before I get around to writing about it properly :p
