imagine that you are completely new to the field and don't yet know of any translation attempts. Suddenly, you stumble upon tavie's list and find links to over 50 previous translation attempts. You start looking through them, one by one. Many seem able to translate some text, although they all claim it's different languages and they all reach different translations.

How do you convince this person that _your_ translation in particular is correct? What makes your translation special? Saying that "because it's the truth!" or "because others are wrong" is not convincing, because anyone can (and many do) say that.
