Now I may not understand correctly.
I don't really care about the holes.
To make it clearer. It is the trace where the worm leaves on the parchment. That has a characteristic surface.
When the hole is in it, you can't see it anymore.

The normal insect frass can be faked well, but it usually only occurs in the paper
