In Latin, k is often used for "Item" and "etc" is written with so many different shapes, it would take several lines to illustrate them all, but if it's "etc" in the sense of saying "and so on and so on..." at the ends of lines, then m is quite often used.
There was quite a bit of individual variation in scribal choices, but it didn't matter since it's the context that tells the reader how to interpret it.
