Any whim was to offer the world a little science. Are you really focusing on the fact that I wrote the papers close together? I spent every day for 8 months on these. Intentionally wrote them separate as they are two different subjects but related of course.

I dont know who that is. All of my work was independent of outside research. I intentionally did it that way because I did not want my work adulterated with outside influence.

It's always a bit suspicious when the reference list shows zero interest in previous Voynich research.
With both papers I'm still not quite sure if I understand how her system works. Some of here ideas don't look too crazy in isolation but it's a long step from those to her translating a whole page and somehow identifying an author. Also, gestalt perception is not the kind of term I would ever use in a context like this.
Why would I care about previous research when everyone else has been wrong?

I have seen this statement before, several times already.
It is a pity that incorrect statements keep getting repeated.
It is of course completely false that everyone has been wrong.
Yes, numerous people presenting incorrect solutions have been wrong.
Then again, many things have been written about the MS that are both correct and valuable.

I have difficulties understanding the path to the translation. Perhaps there are other opinions on this.
The paper has since been updated. I have intentionally kept some information in my back pocket which Sage is aware of.

Your introduction should start with the description of the context, the state of previous research on the topic. So, in my opinion, the best response to the comments would be "I missed the literature search this time, I'll catch up next time".

Fortunately, there are not only solutions to the VMS. Many studies relate to text and illustration properties and offer valid insights here. These can ( and should ) be taken into account when investigating the VMS. If you work "on an island", you will inevitably miss out on important aspects ( especially to the rigid Word structure in the VMS ).
Could you explain your "translation" in concrete terms using an example sentence ?

It seems difficult to figure out exactly how the Latin was produced. "Gestalt Perception" allows quite a lot of freedom of interpretation...
samen (not Latin) /semen is daiin, according to The Translation of The Voynich Manuscript: Folio 1r page 16.
The Gestalt Perception was not in reference to "samen/semen" but to electuarias and caelestias, etc - specifically using the more unusual ligatures. It does not allow a lot of freedom at all.

The idea of olives are more than farfetched. I think the author has never seen real olives. They are hard with an even harder seed inside. To extract oil they had to be ground between two very heavy rocks, u often pulled in circles by a mule or a similar animal. No way ever they could crushed by human feet. I think it would even hurt your feet if you tried walking on olives. Then - olive trees don’t grow in Germany. Not now, not in Middle Ages. They need a Mediterranean climate only.
All it takes is a quick google to realize Switzerland was heavy in olive production in the middle ages and onward.

Well, not new. But at 1500-2000 litres per year today, it's rather meagre.
Even if I look at the greatest possible expansion to the south in the Middle Ages, there was never enough land where olives could grow at all.
So which time and which region should that have been?

Considering that in 14th century Europe had temperatures lower than now,I have really a big difficulty to believe any olive tree could have grow and especially fruit in Switzerland.
