I assume that most people will gravitate towards 50% when they don't have an opinion either way. So in this case, Emma's use of 0% as "no opinion" is an outlier. And if pedestrian goes over 50%, it means he's more likely to agree than to disagree. I don't think it will have too much of an impact, especially since this is meant as a "for fun" segment and not a peer reviewed publication.

For the two instances where I've stated "no opinion", I'm happy for you to interpret or change the figure according to whatever you think best. If that means taking them as 50%, then do so.

I suppose that there could be a subtle difference between "I have no opinion" and "my opinion is that I don't know".
It seems reasonable to use 50(%) for both cases.

I think it is fine, most people will go for 50 is they don't know / don't care / have no opinion. I will just alter Emma's zero's and we're good.

50 = no opinion

That's a good idea, but a bit late to implement now. Next edition Smile

Some feedback from me to add to the pile

Some of my answers would be different depending on section

  1. The images match the text
  2. The images have been made ambiguous or otherwise strange to conceal their true meaning
My view on if plant names are plant names would be fairly strong. My view on if all the nymphs have their names written by them would be very low, so I just averaged it out a bit in my head and gave that answer, same for ambiguous images


  1. Voynichese text, or part of it, contains (semantic) meaning. 
    I added "once decoded" into my score as presume implied, but if question was literal my answer would be a very low number, don't mean to be nit-picky, I just honestly wasn't sure, especially with cipher questions following.. for example I don't think "arororaror" has any meaning, but there's no reason that wouldn't spit out something meaningful once decoded. I'm further up mt stupid than most here so its probably me, but I got a bit confused

Suggestion: Add a column with proofs- yes or not where yes is some number for example 10 and not is a number 1. So that each answer is weighted. For example are they real plants- there is a firm yes- since some of them like violas, water lily are recognized... At the end the answer will be multiplied by its weight.

Thanks, I moved it over to this thread. Unfortunately she seems to have misunderstood the assignment so I cannot use the data for now.

We're at 19 participants, need 2 more to match 2020!

I'd be careful to rate anything regarding the VM with 0 or 100%. In most cases I have to say - I just don't know.
