When I look around here, there are very few people who are committed to working on a solution over the long term (e.g. Stolfi, Rubin Novacna, myself, u.a), and many of the “one-hit wonders” who pop in, propose a completely off-the-wall solution, and then disappear again.
That’s why I’m interested in the question: Who here is still honestly and consistently working on a plausible solution? And in what direction is it heading?
Not I. I’m hoping to see someone getting closer to a possible solution, but left decades back when the noise grew well beyond observations of some details in text behaviour, quire and folio ordering, completing transliterations, image comparisons, etc…
I’ve imagined all sorts of what ifs that I think many have considered before running into brick walls or giving themselves too much leeway when things don’t fit consistently. I enjoy reading about the text analysis and observations made. I like to interact with questions from time to time, but have yet to be excited or motivated to try actual work on a specific angle that might spin off of other conversations.
I avoid reading AI slop if I can see it as such quickly. I’m glad there is still a community of interest, and I like the forum structure so I can filter out a lot of the less than ideal content.
I am a newbie since January 2026 and I am working on the hypothesis that VM contains the existing books of Enoch.
The main points of my hypothesis are:
1) the plants are not plants but parables
2) Balneology is images and stories from the book of Enoch
3) the recipes are the Apocalyptic Book of Enoch.
4) the astronomical part is the Astronomical Book of Enoch, with the Ethiopian Trace.
5) So far I think that the book was written later.
So far this hypothesis is taking me further and further. I have more knowledge than I am able to process. I am an amateur and my outputs correspond to it. I am 50 years old and I am a mechanical engineer from the Czech Republic.
The interesting thing about the Voynich Search engine I built, is if used properly, you should be able to mine it... It has a large part of the last 50-60 years of study... I haven't had a chance yet, but I'm sure something is in there .. someone has probably already solved it and. It even realised.

I became pessimistic about the solution. When I got interesed about Voynich Manuscript a few years ago I suspected it to be some mega, super-duper cipher. But I changed my mind. Today I am in the "gibberish team". I am not working on the solution because I simpy believe that the solution doesn't exist.
On the other hand proving that something is gibberish is extremely hard. I have no idea how it could be done without any doubt and I guess other people believing in the hoax theory have the same problem. So I'm not working actively on that too.
I believe however that some progress can be made and was actually made in the area of references. We can discover different inspirations and related stuff for VM and while it's not the big thing that everyone here would like to see, it's still interesting, entertaining and fruitful.
And of course I wish all the good luck in the world to the people working on their solutions

I am working on something I hope is solution-adjacent, though goodness knows I don't feel on the edge of a breakthrough. I may be announcing a particularly interesting new crib candidate in the foreseeable future, but identifying it didn't bust the whole thing open so I'm not in a hurry to argue for it before fully baking my case
Not on a solution, because I believe it has no solution. I believe it is meaningless. However in my spare time I am still willing to do more analysis on the text. In particular, I have lately noticed something odd about You are not allowed to view links.

Well, I do.
But I am not going to publish every little step (here).
„VMS research“ allows itself a blind spot at the size of half Europe.
I think it is asking all the wrong questions since 1912;
some of the better questions are:
- VMS characters are a „given“/designed alphabet — where in Europe was it necessary and possible to create an alphabet from scrap? (there were some places)
- VMS ˋvords´are starting to 95% with 1 character from a small set of not more than 8 characters, and are ending with 1 out of 5-6 in the very most cases — which languages do show the same limits? (there are some)
- whatever VMS vowels are, there seem not more than 2-3 of them to be preferred (counted on the appearance distributions), while others are rare — which natural languages do have similar features? (there are some)
- which are the distinct letters of VMS alphabet, and how many are they? (there are more than 13…) — which languages do have a reduced character set due to their structure or historical reasons? (there are some)
- is it a boring „predictability“ in VMS‘ character sequences — or are these vowel harmonies of natural languages? (there are some)
- is it possible to trace back such details for 600 years? (that‘s a good one)
At all, I would not expect now that the „plants“ will be explained anyhow by their accompanying texts, or will have anything to do with them. There is chance of „just being decoration“, at least those drawings were not very helpful the last 114 years.
Other parts of imagery seem to be more helpful.
I am working on a solution and I don't believe the text is completely meaningless. But it is certainly a slow process and I am pursuing this in a variety of ways.
In a way, I suppose.
However, the red flags I see in all proposed solutions, I also see in my own ruminations. Well, different red flags, but it stops me from making any claims.
