"Advanced tech" is a modern term for today's times. If you think it in this way the answer would be NO.
-If it concerns "advanced for middle ages- I think -Yes.
-If you take careful look at many blobs you will notice, that some of them are real blobs - rough and rounded, and others are not, but have some form like letters, as in the case.
-If no, why did they not use their advanced tech?- In certain places they used it and why, I cannot answer now.
Would you answer now my question- "Who was the user/owner of the manuscript?" Or with other words- what is the profile of Jacub Horcicky z Tepence?
Was he an ordinary Jesuit healer or was he an experienced alchemist?
In the last case we may have advanced techniques in the VM.

Certainly. Thankyou for answering the questions. Yes, by saying "advanced tech" I was referring to technology that was beyond the normal technology of the times.
On an uneven vellum surface, the blobs will smudge into different shapes. Your assumption that blobs must be rough and rounded is understandable but incorrect.
You confirm that you believe the dots were drawn with "advanced for the middle ages" technology. If this was the case, I think all of the dots would resemble letters and that they would be clear and legible. Unfortunately, this is not the case as you also confirm. Why aren't they all clear? These dots look as if all of them were written with "normal for the middle ages" technology (That is why I asked).
As for your questions:
-I think it is reasonable to say that Jacobi Tepenecz was in possession of the manuscript at some point, due to the seemingly legitimate signature on You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.
-I do not know whether he was an ordinary healer or experienced alchemist
-If he was an experienced alchemist, he was an experienced alchemist in the late 16th century/ early 17th century. This is quite a long time after the supposed authoring of the VM (100+ years after)
-Jacobi Tepenecz also owned and signed other works that he collected during his lifetime, suggesting that his signature on a manuscript does not imply his authorship of that manuscript.
