"This study made use of Dr. Cheshire’s work and analysis of Folios 1v - 6r in his ten paper series of the Voynich Manuscript. We would like to thank him for reviewing ourpaper and provide wonderful feedback. We would also like to thank Mr. Robert Downing for his guidance throughout the project, as well as the Olive Children Foundation and the ASDRP faculty and staff for giving us this opportunity to conduct research"

Olive Children Foundation. Does this mean that a research grant was provided for this study?

Can I ask that every time you are about to state the number of years you have been doing X or the X that you have been doing since childhood or that you have achieved some test score or some other signifier that is supposed to indicate authority that you think twice? Focus on the argument you are presenting and not appeals to authority.

I think it->

is getting old and tiresome.
"Within the Latin translation of the first page, the first word that was decoded was PIRE."

The researchers did not indicate which word on the first page translated to "PIRE".

This [is insulting to readers since it] does not clearly reveal the methodology used.
Mark, it was the other poster who claimed that I did not understand the research. I didn't start it, and it was not necessary for you to jump in and continue something that was between me and asdrpradii.

Your time would be better spent critiquing the paper rather than critiquing my response to a poster who insulted me.

My comments up to that point were about the information in the paper.

It was asdrpradii who made it personal by denigrating my intelligence with ad hominem remarks about my ability to comprehend the paper. It's seven pages long and most of it is a re-statement of Cheshire's work. It's not hard to understand.

Now let's get back to a discussion about the research.
Hi all , I cant acces this paper, Could someone please tell me the authors name ? The link gives the impression that R.Downing is the author.
I found this under ASDRP (there are publications about the VMS, one from Robert A Downing II ):

Here is an example of the 'logic' the researchers used to interpret words:

"This page also has words that are found in Latin. One of these is pse which is very close to pes, which translates to "foot" (6). This plant could be used to cure an ailment of the foot."

It is just when you pulled that one on me recently when we were talking about plane matching and on that occasion I didn't point out that you were doing this again. You went to the line about you having done X for 13 years.

I am not saying I agree with asdrpradii at all, although I don't believe that he made an appeal to authority. You should rely and have confidence on your arguments alone. It you only make this kind of remark in this discussion I would have ignored it, but I have found you pull those kind of lines with me often, so when I see it makes me exasperated. My advice to you is just to try and avoid doing that and just rely on your arguments. I might disagree with other people, but I can't think of anyone else pulling those kinds of lines on me. It shouldn't be necessary.
Please be indulgent, apparently it's written by the children. I'm not familiar with the American educational system: "high school" corresponds to what age?

Rob, Downing has more than one VMS paper. The one related to Cheshire is this one on academia.edu:
