Perhaps Hannig shoots himself in only one foot rather than both. But even so, they're not so very different.
Here's a comment by someone familiar with medieval Hebrew. He's not impressed.

A good article on Hannig's Theory:

Some of the clear weaknesses in the logic are exposed, but one argument that I have a problem with is the writing direction left-right vs. right-left. For me, this cannot be an argument.

If anyone encoded a text that he could read and understand, from a writing system that would normally run right to left, but his own writing system would be left to right, then I think it would be a completely acceptable hypothesis that he adopted his own writing direction.

Even if that hypothesis has a probability of only 50% of being true, the argument disappears.

Agreed. Any text can be written in either direction and still be read by someone who is familiar with the language.

Romanized Hebrew or Arabic, as examples, are often written left to right.
@JKP
You're right, it's not hard.
How about if you still have to encrypt it, and 100 pages of it.
And also to assume that the mother tongue is possibly set exactly opposite.
How many mistakes do you think would creep in?
If I take into account that there are several people in the game, and all should do the same.

Anyway: But in this version there are certainly no travellers.

They may have created a draft version before creating the one we know.
Yes, possible
That's 200 pages already.
And suddenly, 100 pages turn into 300 at the end.

I sent Hannig an email with the question whether a publication of the conference ( e.g. on Youtube ) is planned.
The conference probably did not take place. I did not receive any feedback on my email.
I was promised an invitation and did not get it.

I agree.
