In Ptolemy's catalogue, more than 1000 stars were listed and many stars have and had different names. Since Monica can pick from many possible readings for each Voynichese word (as my Reddit post shows), she is able to find a "similar" star name in most of the cases. Of course, it is also necessary to take huge liberties, like saying that "Achayayaz" is a plausible spelling for "Mirzan Al-Jawza", or throwing the Latin constellation name "Auriga" into a mix of pseudo-Arabic star names.
