Great job, @nablator! I can see that you tried to use the method of matching letters with glyphs, obtaining correspondences. You even guessed one syllable! A couple of minor nuances:
1). The glyph you chose means аш, not ш.
2). A single “gallows” symbol means хья, but if there is a glyph “o” nearby, then it will be the syllable ба.
What about the other syllables? Did they cause you any difficulties?
