I find this discovery interesting, especially because of the "style of the outer rays", as you show in your comparison.
However, I find it much more likely that this and the VMS share the same "outer rays" tradition, like you say this is only a node in the long tree structure leading up to the VMS. Interesting nonetheless. One more thing to keep looking for.
