I don't think there's any evidence that Rudolf or his representative thought the MS had great monetary value. If Rudolf did indeed purchase it, this was likely as part of a lot, as per Stefan Guzy's research.
If I know you got a box of books for €150, I don't know how much value you attribute to each particular book.
Also, it wasn't kept in a collection but ended up being passed around to various individuals. Who had it before Baresch and who had it before them? Did the MS arrive in Prague with the pages already removed?
