Well written. The question I have is, what if the VMs contains both linguistic and quasi-linguistic parts? Could there be something hidden behind the VMs façade? Do the illustrations count as one of the quasi-linguistic parts, and if so, what do they have to say? Are the quasi-linguistic parts of any use in finding the linguistic parts?
