New reading hypothesis on f85v (Rosettes): “Paris Kar

I understand, no worries. I’m new here and don’t yet grasp the site's customs, but if I need to demonstrate this using a scientific approach, backed by evidence believe me, I’d be happy to do so.

I was just throwing out an idea.

As a scholar once put it, the protocol for generating knowledge is as follows:

Reading + understanding + sketching + measuring.

I don't think that's the issue. What conclusion would you hope to draw from such an experiment? What do you feel that would prove?

I can’t see the words you’re talking about.

He is seeing s as P, a as a, ch as r, then there is "is", i don't know what it is supposed to be, then there is a scratched out letter that still resembles a K somewhat, then something that looks like "ar", again I don't know if it is voynichese or not.

Yes, I understand. But still, I see a clear curl in P, and there’s no continuation of the line where it should be, so I see an s.
ch can even be pronounced as ri.

I was fortunate enough to send this for multispectral analysis during my trip to the Beinecke Library. Indeed the results were most peculiar...

RadioFM, are you sure this picture is germaiin to the conversation. Wink

Joking aside, I would LOVE to hear thoughts about what that could conceivably be because that seems like a blend of Voynichese and...German?...in ways that might add to the handwriting analysis of f116v

Um... guys... I don’t know whether what Radio FM is saying is true, but perhaps we should consider it.

I had read “Paris kar” myself, without multispectral imaging or anything like that. Now, thanks to Radio FM, I can see what looks quite clearly to me like “Paris Saint Germain.”

Could this refer to the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés in Paris, which later housed a vast library?

Radio FM, could you please show us the evidence behind your reading? If confirmed, it could be a major discovery.

In an earlier post, I discussed how the manuscript might have passed from hand to hand within a small alchemical circle, this could open up new avenues to investigate.
Thank you.
