Creature(?) in Rosettes page - Rafal - 07-04-2026 There is a lot of talk about "Voynich armadillo" but very little talk about supposed creature in Rosettes page: It is in the top right circle, close to the castle. It is absent for example here, in the discussion of Voynich animals: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. I think the main dilemma here is if it is some creature at all or not. I included a poll for that. But hey, it has head, eye, four legs and a tail. How do you think, what could it be? For me it looks very alienish. Of course some alien straight from sci-fi movie would be a bit anachronistic, although not as much as you could think. But I asked AI to reimagine this picture as alien creature and that's what I got: RE: Creature(?) in Rosettes page - Rafal - 07-04-2026 And speaking of "alien" stuff in medieval art, devils were often very alien-like RE: Creature(?) in Rosettes page - nablator - 07-04-2026 (Yesterday, 01:03 PM)Rafal Wrote: You are not allowed to view links. But this head has a bit of "grey alien" vibe ![]() And if this shape is not a creature then what is it? Some cloud formation? Personally I interpret the scalloped things and others on the top and right side of the circle as a not-very-successful drawing of big waves crashing on a cliff or a shore (unclear). Yes, real waves don't look like this, but everyone is not Kanagawa. RE: Creature(?) in Rosettes page - DG97EEB - 07-04-2026 I strongly expect it's a spring/bath in a hillside... My money is on the Euganean Hills, Abano, Montegrotto, or Battaglia... RE: Creature(?) in Rosettes page - Bluetoes101 - 07-04-2026 I am a "creature denier", however... SPACE GIRAFFE!!! (we are missing a few heads..) The Rosettes Page is not a map of a real place. It's symbolic. It's a diagram that represents different things but those things are connected. I've already said what I think those different things are so I won't repeat myself. |
