f67v2 - daily cycle of Sun and Moon - Rafal - 16-12-2025

I will continue sharing my observations. Maybe they are totally unoriginal but as we said in another thread it's okay Wink

I would like to discuss page f67v2

There is already a thread about it ( You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. ) but maybe a new thread will attract more interest.

So have a look:

It looks for me like a daily cycle of Sun and Moon.

Let's begin with some introduction. In old times there were many beliefs at the bounduary of astronomy and misticism. In many cultures people believed that Sun or Moon are "sleeping" or "resting" when they are invisible.

Going on, Sun and Moon had their "homes", "chambers" or "palaces" where they slept. They travelled between sky and these palaces through some "portals".

See for example Book of Henoch: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.
And the sun rises from that fourth portal, and sets in the fourth and returns to the fifth portal of the east thirty mornings, and rises from it and sets in the fifth  portal
and so on.

Now have a look at the picture:
- The "pipes" are portals between sky and chambers of Moon and Sun. Sun and Moon travel through them

- The big circle in the center is the daily cycle of Sun and Moon.

- 4 small circles are chambers of Sun and Moon

- Some dummy painted one chamber like it was Earth image but it isn't
[Image: ygbjqide6s0n2ffc7bxx15fyhmbxyijfjniieggx...?w=340&v=2]

- numbers of "faces" in the chambers are probably numbers of hours but it looks to me that the artist messed something up
as they don't add to any logical number for me

- notice that some faces a wearing a cap. I marked it for you. I believe these caps are a symbol of sleeping. They are known as
a nightcap or Schlafmütze in German

- there is a star in the centre. It could be Polaris as it is the star that doesn't change its position on the sky so everything
turns around it

What do you think about it? Can you get more out of this picture? Or maybe add/correct something?

Actually this picture could work in theory pretty well as a kind of crib. There should be repeated sequences, words for Sun and Moon and so on. Unfortunately
I don't see any regularity there  Sad  Which would support the theory of gibberish.

Well I am glad other people see the same thing I do Smile , and I like the nightcap idea!

Something I would tentatively add is that currently my thought is that your "moon set" shows a "splash" in the way the lines and dots are done, which would fit in with sun/moon slashing into the ocean before going in the portal and to hidden paths.

Something I would, admit to thinking about.. is if all the "pipes" in the MS (ROS etc) show the idea of unknown travel or connections. Not exactly this, but an example - People thought that angels/demons/gods were associated with planets/stars or other "far away things" and you could call on them in ways, or maybe they perform an action on earth (a miracle etc). I've wondered if this is how the VM drawer tried to show these sorts of things, stuff happening beyond our view.. like the sun and moon "portals" and "unknown paths".

The interpretation of this page is quite simple. There's no need to imagine strange things. It's a common problem with all the Voynich imagery: that the imagination runs wild.

It is a page that shows the astrological aspects formed by the sun and the moon, that is, the angles they form between them in their journey along the ecliptic. The astrological aspects are shown in the corners of the page. Those faces we see are a representation of the sun and the moon. At the top we see the trine and sextile, and at the bottom left the square, and on the right in the same image the opposition/conjunction.

In the central image of the page we see two suns and two moons to indicate the astrological aspects in the two celestial hemispheres.

I've long thought this, as I'm working with these aspects on a daily basis, it seems very clear.

The issue becomes why the artist decided to depict each of these as squares (graphically speaking), when only one of them conceptually is a 'square'. My current guess is a division by sect, with the 'good' aspects being asigned as solar and the 'bad' as lunar. This diagram is incorporating more than just aspect doctrine, in my view.

I don't understand what you mean. There's only one astrological square aspect in the lower left corner. I don't see the sun and moon forming squares anywhere else.

You say you work with astrological aspects daily, which leads me to believe you believe in astrology and the influence of the stars. It amazes me that in the 21st century there are still people who believe in these things, but you are a perfect example of the importance astrology has had in the history of human thought.

Well, that's a nice welcome. Thanks.
