The herb section represents the Bible. Previous post with this idea was You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view..
I will develope it in this thead.

The first folios are the Genesis 1 and 2. I will show in this post the Genesis 1, days one to five of the creation.

Genesis text taken from:

[1:1] In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth,
[1:2] the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters.
[1:3] Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.
[1:4] And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness.
[1:5] God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

f1r, day 1:
Without drawing. At the benginning there was nothing.

[1:6] And God said, "Let there be a dome in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters."
[1:7] So God made the dome and separated the waters that were under the dome from the waters that were above the dome. And it was so.
[1:8] God called the dome Sky. And there was evening and there was morning, the second day.

f1v, day 2:
Yellow leaves are the light-Day.
Green leaves are the darkness-Night.
In right and left branches, green and yellow leaves are mixed.
In the middle branch yellow leaves are on the right and green leaves on the left.

[1:9] And God said, "Let the waters under the sky be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear." And it was so.
[1:10] God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
[1:11] Then God said, "Let the earth put forth vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees of every kind on earth that bear fruit with the seed in it." And it was so.
[1:12] The earth brought forth vegetation: plants yielding seed of every kind, and trees of every kind bearing fruit with the seed in it. And God saw that it was good.
[1:13] And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.

f2v, day 3
The plant is a water lily or a nenufar, an aquatic plant.
The leave represents the water gathered into one place, the flower represents the dry land.

[1:14] And God said, "Let there be lights in the dome of the sky to separate the day from the night; and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years,
[1:15] and let them be lights in the dome of the sky to give light upon the earth." And it was so.
[1:16] God made the two great lights - the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night - and the stars.
[1:17] God set them in the dome of the sky to give light upon the earth,
[1:18] to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
[1:19] And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.

f3v: day 4.
The leaves have 4 points.
The flowers are painted in dark blue, color used for heaven and God.
The greater flower is the sun, the smaller one is the moon.

[1:20] And God said, "Let the waters bring forth swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the dome of the sky."
[1:21] So God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, of every kind, with which the waters swarm, and every winged bird of every kind. And God saw that it was good.
[1:22] God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth."
[1:23] And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day.

f4v: day 5.
Leaves are birds flying. There are 3 stars and the flower is the moon.

I will appreciate any suggestion relationing herbal folios with passages of the bible.

Not bad, the flying birds !

Genesis 2
[2:1] Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all their multitude.
[2:2] And on the seventh day God finished the work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all the work that he had done.
[2:3] So God blessed the seventh day and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all the work that he had done in creation.

f6v: day 7.
The plant has 7 "balls". The leaves are 7 pointed.

The narrative of the creation of the Genesis 1 is over. The Genesis 2 is a second narrative of the creation. There are apparent contradictions between Gen1 and Gen2. Were Adam and Eve created in the 6th day with the rest of the humankind or were they created apart? How are these contradictions treated in the VM? I think that the unexplained You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. corresponds to Genesis 8  and You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. to Genesis 9 (the rainbow). I will treat them in a future post.

A comparison of the You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. and the VM f3r-f3v.

The Liber Floridus may have inspired the VM at some point.
The structure of the plant of the You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. is quite similar to the f103r. The second one is most red, first one is most green, part red, more natural colors for a plant.
The 4 points leaves of the

The You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. is tittled: Genealogia per gradus, consaguinitatis descripta.
The f103r: Consanguinitatum gradus. (Grades of consanguinity)
They treat generic names of relatives and their relationship. The Genesis is full of linages and descendants, see You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. Adam's descendants to Noah.

f7r: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.. New home
The image shows an 8 pointed leave. It is similar to a rose of the winds .
In the Genesis 7 the earth is flooded and Noah embarked in the ark.
In the Genesis 8 the waters receed and the ark rested in the mountains of Ararat.
Gen. 8.17. be fruitful and multiply on the earth.
The image represents the new expansion of the humanity over the earth.

f7v: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.. The rainbow
The ourter circle is formed by 9 leaves.
Gen 9:13. I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.

There are 2 elements to associate the image to a rainbow.
Drops of water: every leaf has a water drop (a point painted in blue).
The 4 colors of the rainbow: In the You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. the colors of the leaves are: Red, green, pale green and white.

Why 4 colors? A good explanation is here:

The plant ID is Ricinus communis, it seeds are very toxic.
In a previous post I associated the You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. to the Genesis 2. It fits better in You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view., that explains the recurrent number 7 in the composition.
The poisonous plant is an allegory of the death. The flood caused the dead of all flesh creatures that moved on the earth.

Moses is called by God from within a burning bush
The burning bush is called in latin rubus (bramble) in the Vulgata.

Samples of Rubus:

You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.. Page 443-444 says:
habens super se spinam albam multiplicem et recurvam
It refers to multiple spines bent back on themselves or bent round (my latin is poor)

Dioscorides mentions 2 types of Rubus:

Numerous and recurved, I might say. Just picking blackberries recently. They will get you.

So, what about the VMs text? If the illustration is a plant, the written text is thought to be botanical. Now, if the image is presented as religious, what is the text? Biblical?

This runs into the same problem as the botanical interpretation: the need to establish some sort of functional correspondence, to show if the written text is even relevant.

An addon to f3v Genesis 1, day four. The flowers represent the moon and the sun.
The plant ID can be Glechoma hederacea.
It is related to the moon by one of its names:

Names: others 'lunaria' (selēnîtis), white root, fine, useless

A modern description of the plan matches with the You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. image. According to Wikipedia entry of
You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.:
Glechoma hederacea can be identified by its round to reniform (kidney or fan shaped), crenate (with round toothed edges) opposed leaves 2–3 cm (0.79–1.18 in) diameter, on 3–6 cm (1.2–2.4 in) long petioles attached to square stems which root at the nodes.
The flowers of Glechoma are bilaterally symmetrical, funnel shaped, blue or bluish-violet to lavender, and grow in opposed clusters of two or three flowers in the leaf axils on the upper part of the stem or near the tip.
