Yes, Giovanni Aurispa is also an interesting figure. This supports my theory that there may have been a spirit of optimism regarding Greek texts and their translation in the early 15th century.

You know I have argued the Voynich manuscript is anĀ alchemical notebook that managed to survive being destroyed. Glad to see someone else has considered the connections to alchemy.
