Have there been other reading proposals for the pch combination in the meantime? Would entropy change if we considered these three glyphs as one?

Note that the single-legged tallows p and f together form about 1% of all characters in the MS.
Any change to such a small group will have minimal effects on anything, especially also entropy.
(Note that the 1% is an approximate number, and depends on the transliteration alphabet).
