I am not saying I agree with asdrpradii at all, although I don't believe that he made an appeal to authority. You should rely and have confidence on your arguments alone. It you only make this kind of remark in this discussion I would have ignored it, but I have found you pull those kind of lines with me often, so when I see it makes me exasperated. My advice to you is just to try and avoid doing that and just rely on your arguments. I might disagree with other people, but I can't think of anyone else pulling those kinds of lines on me. It shouldn't be necessary.
Mark, please stay on topic. If you want to discuss your dislike of people talking about their credentials, take it to the Water Cooler. It doesn't belong on this thread.

Ruby, I just had an awful thought...
Maybe Downing was a mentor for the paper and the other names are teenagers. If that is the case, Downing should have steered them far away from Cheshire's work. They should have looked at Emma and Marco's papers or Torsten Timm's papers... something with research credibility.

If this was written by teenagers, then the layout and presentation is good. The logic and research needs a lot of work. And Downing should have steered them away from Cheshire.
If you start with bad research, a bad foundation, it's hard to build anything solid out of it. It's like trying to sculpt wood out of ashes.
