I am currently on vacation near Aachen and of course I couldn't skip a visit to Charlemagne's Palatine Chapel. (One of my top five favorite buildings). Some decorations reminded me of this thread, and nebule-conausseur par excellence R Sale. Posting from my phone, I hope the image size is not exaggerated.

I guess these are technically flowers, but they are certainly stylized "cloud band" floral decorations. With a sidereal layer of meaning as well, since they fill the deep blue ceiling.

The leaves are close, but the line is not bulbous. Manufactured patterns will obviously do whatever they are made to do.
