Image extractor |
I've implemented a way for people to rapidly extract part of a manuscript page as an image and insert into a post (or even your own website!)
Let us pretend we are discussing a feature of f1r, and I want to rapidly insert an image showing what I mean. Like so:
First, open the image extractor. It's an icon in the text editor that is on the far right of the list of buttons. (It's supposed to be a ninja, in case you're wondering). Click it. The image extractor page opens in a new window.
Let's assume we have the following link copied: https://voynich.ninja/extractor/image.jpg?q=f1r-445-225-95-80 We can make it bigger by applying an aspect ratio, and the image will be resized on the server. We do this by adding at the end of our link another - followed by a whole number, which is the aspect ratio (the number of times we want to multiply the image by). So to double to size of the image we obtain from the server: https://voynich.ninja/extractor/image.jpg?q=f1r-445-225-95-80-2 Image quality is slightly reduced when we do this. I hope to improve the server side images in the future. We also have some more options. We can make a negative; switch off anti aliasing; sharpen the image or print a reference on it. Negative Add the code "&negative" to the end of the link https://voynich.ninja/extractor/image.jpg?q=f1r-445-225-95-80&negative Switch off anti-aliasing (anti-aliasing is applied to images by default to improve quality) Just add code &noantialias https://voynich.ninja/extractor/image.jpg?q=f1r-445-225-95-80&noantialias Sharpen the image Just add the code &sharp=x where x is a decimal integer between 0 and 1. https://voynich.ninja/extractor/image.jpg?q=f1r-445-225-95-80&sharp=.9 Rotate or flip an image You can transpose an image by using the code &rotate=
You can set the base alpha by using the code &alpha=x where x is an integer between 0 and 1 Different filetype You can extract the image in different filetypes: jpg, gif, tiff, png, bmp, wbmp. Just change the .jpg file extension in the link (https://voynich.ninja/extractor/image.jpg?q=f1r-445-225-95-80&ref) for any of the above filetypes. Note: The source image is always a jpg, it's converted on the server into the desired format. Add a reference So that people know what folio the image is from. Just add the code &ref to the end of the link https://voynich.ninja/extractor/image.jpg?q=f1r-445-225-95-80&ref Important! Please note that this adds a "caption" at the bottom of your image. It will hide the very bottom of your image to display the text, so make sure you leave enough space when selecting the image to display the caption. |
