It seems to me like using metrics to decide what colour each jigsaw puzzle piece is, but all the pieces are square.
Each additional process, added to previous, makes the colour more sure. But how will the definitely correct picture be made?
That process (LSA etc) seems to see each jigsaw as a rainbow. Obviously that doesn't work for jigsaw puzzles, but does it tend to be right for manuscripts covering various topics? Are there examples of this working consistently?
For example if I took a book on distillation
P1. Bunch of ingredients.
P2. Process for distilling.
P3. Star chart for when to make/take.
P4. Aliments and doses.
If the stats / systems agree the strongest link for each page is to other pages on these topics and makes chapters, I lose the intended information. At least from the outside looking in, this seems the most likely thing to happen.
If all these results can be put together from the VMS text (using the book example) so we have "tall, thin, red - book and small, thick, yellow - book" can that information be used to order the books correctly on the book shelf, or will the result be an order of similarity, all the reds and yellows separated etc?
