The old 4 (EVA l) looks like a half 8, which is why it looks like this.
Yeah. The video shows the symbol from a "templar-related manuscript" from the 12th century. Emphasis on "templar" obviously because it sounds good and mysterious on TV. I'm pretty sure its just the 4 in the number 74. I imagine if they looked any further at all that they would have found 100s of other manuscripts where the old 4 was used.

As Aga says, the old 4 symbol looks like an EVA l. (as well as 7 looking like v, and 9 looking like y)

I’m convinced anyway that the VMS is a Templar cipher disguised as a herbarium. It contains the true location of the Templar treasure on Oak Island. The map, of course, is on the most beautiful page of the VMS, the one showing the nine large rocks on Oak Island. But the manuscript also points to other hiding places in the swamps of Oak Island, as indicated in the Balneo section.

The stars represent the exact directions to the treasure. But for that, you also need the Astro section.

(No, I don’t think so—just kidding...)
In this context, what if qo at the beginning of vords is simply the reverse of ol at the end of vords?
Possible, but both ol and just a single l also appear at the start of words.
Furthermore, qo (with a macron) and ol are shown standalone and next to each other in folio You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. where qo appears for the first time.
