The 2009 McCrone analysis mentions "Figures 1B through 20F", but they are not included in the PDF...

I thought I found these figures once, but maybe that was imagined - I can't find them now in my files or online.

Does anyone have a link to these?

(Also, of course, if there is later pigment analysis done in the same vein that I've missed, please let me know.)

Thanks!
By coincidence, there is a chance that they will be online soon. I will double-check.

Good eye, Evan!

Yes I had noted the same thing, some time ago, and had tried to shake the tree to get these mentioned, but missing, parts of the McCrone Report. I finally started making concerted effort to get them mid-late summer, and was finally successful only a few weeks ago.

I am writing a blog post about these, and intended to upload them to the voynich.net when I did that. But because of your post here on the Ninja's, I at least uploaded these files early.... as in, today, just now:

In this folder you will find the following files:

McCronemicrographs (003).pdf

McCroneSpectraScans 4-20.pdf

McCroneSpectraScans1-4.pdf

And I put a copy of the original, incomplete report, in there also:

voynich_analysis.pdf

Here is the funny thing about your noting this: Not only are the first person who ever DID note this, to my knowledge, but even the Beinecke had forgotten they existed, let alone that they still had them! I even wrote Ray, hoping that... even though he is retired from the Beinecke... that he might have a copy. But he also didn't realize they ever existed.

So I kept bugging the Beinecke about these missing "Figures 1B through 20F"... and also, by the way, the missing "photomicrographs" (also called micro-photographs and "micrographs" in different places), and originally they said that the figures on the original report, which we all have had, were those last page tables of various substances and locations.

But I kept at it... they finally found the photomicrographs, and sent those to me... but I gently insisted that there were still "figures" mentioned. They were very patient with me, though, and after a couple of months of a half dozen back and forth emails... they found them all!

So yes I intended to post these next week, when I finished my blog post on the subject... but since, coincidentally again, as Rene pointed out, it was appropriate to upload them today.

I'm curious how you found out that these had been uncovered? I did hope they would post them after they found them again, but I didn't realize it was news yet. I'm sure they will post them sooner than later, though. But meanwhile I've got them up on the voynich.net, as I mentioned above:

Awesome - thank you for your diligence and sharing these! Looking forward to the blog post.

Thanks!

These photos have a resolution of 72x72 dpi. This resolution cannot be classified as microphotography.

Thank you so much! I've been wondering about these for ages too.
I find this analysis particularly interesting:

The original report has several annexes with all the figures, which were never lost. They simply were not posted online together with the main text of the report, for reason(s) unknown to me. This omission was realised recently, and the request to publish them is already with the Beinecke, but I don't know about the priority of this.

Yes, they realized it because of my requests. But no, they actually were lost... in that they no longer remembered they had them, and even countered my requests with firm denials that they even existed. They were apparently sitting on a hard drive, maybe even on the original DVD which McCrone sent to Repp... forgotten. It was frustrating because I didn't want to say to them they were mistaken, but to gently explain that they must have had them at some point, and may still have them... which, it turned out, luckily, they did.

But no, nobody there remember they existed, nor that they had them. That was made very clear in my discussions with them. I really appreciate their willingness to hear me out to the end, and listen to my arguments, and take the time to find them again. The staff must be swamped with a million requests, like mine, all the time, but they heard me out.

But what I was asking is how you became aware that Beinecke had found these files, in response to my requests? Did you happen to ask for them at the same time as I did, after all these years? Or did someone from the Beinecke mention to you that they had been uncovered? I know nothing about these sort of mechanations, and am always curious how they come about. All of these connections are as interesting, and almost as mysterious to me, as the Voynich problems themselves.
