At least I have found some information about the beginning of the year from March 1. The beginning of the year in the Frankish Empire until ( after ) 755 seems particularly remarkable to me. After all, we are already in the Middle Ages.

Quote:The special explanation of the use of the beginning of the year with March 1 (see under Pre-Caesarian beginning of the year). In French chronicles and annals in Merovingian times, this date was generally used, for example by Marius of Avenche (+593), Gregory of Tours (+ 594) and Fredegar (+ ca. 658). The Concilium Vernense 755 still recognizes 1 March as the beginning of the year: prima synodus mense primo. quod est Martiis calendis. Until its fall (1797), the Republic of Venice always officially reckoned according to this beginning of the year. The Russians had adopted the Byzantine calendar, but not the beginning of September 1st. Until the middle of the 13th century, they used the beginning of March 1.

I do not know if the f67r1 marks Aquarius as the beginning of the year and do not state it.
My statement is that the first sign in the moon mansions, or calendar is Aquarius.
The ancient Babylonians, Egyptians, etc. have lived very near the nature and the overflows of the rivers was very important for their life. This overflow had happened during the water signs.
I think, that general failure of our investigations is always to start with the medieval knowledge and the Roman empire scripts.
What if VM script, being unique is older than this period?

At least this gives another plausible meaning for dairal on f57v: "sol".

Wikipedia explanation in German:
"Ein Wadi ist ein Tal oder Flusslauf, der häufig erst nach der winterlichen Schneeschmelze (z. B. im You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.) oder nach starken oder länger anhaltenden Regenfällen vorübergehend Wasser führt."
WADI... WADOL... = Vadol-- f57v

From Google translate
"A wadi is a valley or river that often only temporarily carries water after the winter snow melts (e.g. in the Atlas Mountains) or after heavy or prolonged rainfall."
I am trying to understand what you are saying with that quote, why would astronomical tables be talking about rivers?

"WADI" is an answer to Rene's comment.
"VADOL", according my translations is Aquarius and is represented with You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. in Voynich Manuscript.

Hello I'm new here and I came to share my findings in regards to this topic as I'm making a little bit of effort i thought it best to report new findings. bare with me here, I'm not used to this dynamic,
Initially I thought the same as everyone else with regards to the zodiacs. Upon closer Inspection of all 12 zodiacs I realised there are in fact no missing zodiacs. which I can see I can actually be of some use here.
Bare in mind I didn't even register the months as recognizable when i went through the zodiac identification process on my own. So I think, and claim that this "Frenchish" man was mostly wrong labelling the zodiacs (Well no I give this person credit they did well) as so:
f70v2 Pisces mars
f70v1 Aries aberil You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. Aries aberil You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. Taurus may
f72r1 Taurus may
f72r2 Gemini jong
f72r3 Cancer iollet
f72v3 Leo augst
f72v2 Virgo septe(m)b®
f72v1 Libra octe(m)bre You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. Scorpius nove(m)bre You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. Sagittarius decebre
As stated on You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.
But I realise that this is incorrect. This is what I hope to Inspire you to notice if nobody else has
f70v2 Pisces mars
f70v1 Aries aberil You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. Capricorn aberil
(One of these two must be Capricorn. there are more than one goat type creatures in the zodiac!) I believe it is this You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. Sagittarius may
(Not the difference in shape of horns and tail. the other is more likely to be the bull of the two. and this is what I assume to be some form of deer or antelope class creature) since there is no actual depiction of Sagittarius. this is what I came to)
f72r1 Taurus may
f72r2 Aquarius jong
(Now this one I cannot explain, I have found no reference to Aquarius as what seems to be a hunter, it arises from if all other 11 are logical this must be Aquarius, I have no Idea why the later individual penned this as Gemini)
f72r3 Cancer iollet
f72v3 Leo augst
f72v2 Virgo septe(m)b®
f72v1 Libra octe(m)bre You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. Scorpius nove(m)bre
(Im surpised they got this one right. after all Scorpio is a lizard) I have found no refrence to any culture that has that tradition) You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. Gemini decebre (this is obvious to me. its two lovers or twins)
Now there you have it this is my interpretation of the zodiac before I discovered there was some sort of romance language under them there are no missing zodiacs. why else would there be twelve? Now I admit I could be wrong regarding this. especially with my picking of which one is the bull and the centaur. I've studied the pictures for more time while writing this and I believe I'm confident in this to Post on here. Hopefully, people see this. I had no idea people thought zodiacs were missing.
Edit:I don't know how to change the format of how the names go down it does not appear as such in the text box prior. I'm sorry if its messy to read

Welcome to the forum!
There is good evidence that unfortunately, two Zodiac signs are missing. The fact that there are 12 now appears to be a coincidental consequence of the fact that Aries and Taurus were split over two roundels. Please see the replies to this recent thread for a discussion, especially Rene's reply. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.
There is also codicological evidence that pages from the manuscript have been removed. This includes a page after the current Zodiac sequence. Of course, we cannot prove what was on that sheet (it's gone), but it must be taken into consideration.
