Helmut Is great with Latin too!
Jim Reeds for me from the old corps. He knew cryptography but was also intuitive in a way that might get dismissed today. As more statistical analysis is done, I think he’d have a great chance at deciphering.

I only duck in once in a while but people I’ve not seen recently are JKP, searcher, Voynich Views, renegadehealer, and I miss them!
Just throwing more names out there...

Glen Caston (pseudonym, and he's passed away)

And there was this guy that would always post (back on the mailing list days) crazy stuff, always in MiXeD CaSe LeTTeRs, about how things came to him in dreams, and that he could never really explain what he meant when he posted. No content of any use, but he was always really good natured...

That would be Steve Ekwall.
I don't think he has ever posted here.
He gets some attention in Nick's book.
Not sure if it was mentioned anywhere, but JKP has at last published a new You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view..
I would love to see him back since his posts were essential source of knowledge for me when I got involved the VMS.
Oh, I hadn't noticed - this apparently happened a few months ago already.

If it's political activism that's keeping him away from his research, I don't think he'll be back any time soon...  Undecided
John Tiltman !
I just notced this thread and my name in it. Thanks to all who wished for my return! Well, I am here, for now.  I hope I will not cause my fans to change their minds...  Big Grin

Partly because I got involved with other big distractions, that occupied my spare time for several years each: first the Brazilian electronic voting system, then cryptocurrencies.  Two lost battles, alas.

Partly because I became convinced of my theory about the VMS, but unfortunately it meant that I lacked the knowledge needed to make further progress - and I had no hope of gaining it.  In fact, the intersection between A = { the people who have the knowledge needed to "decipher" the VMS } and B = { the people who may become interested enough to try to do so } may well remain empty for a long time still...

But I had hoped to come back to it some day.  I have my mail tool configured to automatically save all messages from the Voynich mailing list.  Which means I have 25 years of messages to catch up to...

Anyway, I am about to retire as teacher, and I do think I can still do a bit of useful analysis.  That's why I am back.

Thanks again for the support, and all the best. --jorge

That would also be my question.

And you, Emma. The way you explain your reasoning is inspiring to me.
