Windows SPQR :p

Would the term have been known in any way in the middle ages?
Alabaster was commonly used for religious icons as it's nice and white.
No idea if the stuff was used for alchemy - most stuff was I suppose. But it's not that common in Europe, I think most deposits are in southern Spain, Italy and the Balkans?
It's the basis of plaster of Paris, which has been used to set bones since the... 17th century? (not sure off the top of my head).
Selenite, of course, coming from lunar. Wikipedia says the term has been in common usage since the 15th century but gives no citation.
Old cave houses here traditionally used it as panes of glass in a tradition that's supposeed to date back millenia.
Can't see how any of this is related to the voynich...
I saw SPQR on a banner in a John de Mandeville manuscript, but I don't think I've seen it in an alchemy manuscript (but I could easily miss something like that if I was looking for other things).
I'm not sure if this possible interpretation was mentioned in this thread, I couldn't find it, so copying over from You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. for completeness.

This could be a vertical (radial) separator followed by something like EVA-rain, with EVA-r and the separator overlapping. For other rings there is clear space which can help finding the start of the inscription, but for this particular ring the text turned out too long, so the scribe added a vertical line there.

Here is the translation from old Moravian understanding:

Or the whole translation:

Enjoy !
Bess, I've told you before, please keep your theories out of unrelated threads or I will start issuing warnings.

Huh

My goal was to provide  useful input and not to impose my theories...
If my solutions are not welcome here, I respect that and step back from this discussion.
