I looked at this jar myself, the whole stuff is so heavily painted over that even the main inscription is barely legible, let alone what's above it. It looks like there might have been someting written, but I won't venture to make anything definite of it. Most probably it's just the decorating ornament which has been painted over (compare to the middle section of the upper jar).
Yes, the last letter "R" looks strange here. Or, maybe, rather, low case "a"s are strange, if we imagine a real inscription on an apothecary jar. All the inscriptions wholly were written with capitals.
I don't know whether drug jars contained full names of apothecaries or parfumers, I know only that the most valuable collections contained initials and the coat of arms of an apothecary, and a date.
Later I'll try to mark lines when I get my notebook.
There are several plaintext letters in the VMS. There is P (a couple of them if I remember correctly), H, possibly S A L in the blue cube, and the color annotations.
So, it's possible there are plaintext letters in other places.

I think the second "A" may also be upper case. Possibly, the left leg is just not quit discernible. I don't know why the central "a" is only the letter that drawn in low case. As much as I observe there is something around the combination of "AR" in the VMs, as well as with the symbol that reminds the Pisces zodiacal symbol

For conveniens I tried to find another words similar to "Attaar" for that case if there is a faded letter before. Interesting, I found only one -"Sattaar".

As versions for the VMs hidden word: "Attaar" can be a pen-name of the author, in another case, maybe the author didn't know Arabic (or Hindi) well indeed, and confused words "attaar" and "attar", and exactly the latter means "rose oil" or" rose-water". The third version is that "attaar" also can be a transliteration of the Arabic word for "rose oil".
