Notice how the VMS plant has somewhat narrower flowers and broader leaves than Helenium?

There is a medicinal plant called woundwort (Solidago virgaurea) that grows all over Eurasia, from China to Europe, that matches the VMS plant more closely than Inula.

Did you notice that the flowers on the VMS plant are asymmetric? This is a property of many of the Solidago species (the flowers are along one side of the stem) but Inula flowers never grow this way. Woundwort has a woody rhizome, so the root matches Solidago as well as it does Inula.
This one is not mnemonic-heavy, and I can't find anything suitable in Pritzel neither for Inula nor for Solidago.
