A match for the loopy object on f116v? - JustAnotherTheory - 20-09-2026 I found an interesting candidate for the "loopy object" on the top left corner of f116v: It's from Bodleian Library, MS. Canon. Ital. 280: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. Other features of this MS might also be of note (comparisons to the VMS on the right): RE: A match for the loopy object on f116v? - ololololo - 20-09-2026 The first object has a mismatch in shape. On f116v, it’s something more bag‑like and it hangs down. I don’t see any stylistic similarities between the nymphs. I just see that they’re poorly drawn people. RE: A match for the loopy object on f116v? - Koen G - 20-09-2026 Not sure about that object, though its shape at the bottom is quite interesting. I really like the comparison in your last picture, though. You wouldn't really compare the clothed figures in this MS to anything in the VM, but the nude ones do show a lot of similarities. RE: A match for the loopy object on f116v? - JustAnotherTheory - 20-09-2026 I agree. The way the second leg is occulted by the first, when making a forward step, seems to be close to the style of nymphs in the VMS. |
