Could you elaborate what you mean?

RE: VMS translation - Koen G - 02-07-2026

I guess the Rosetta Stone was also its own Rosetta Stone.

I actually laughed out loud and spat my drink over my keyboard... Thanks.. ;-)

I don't understand the comparison. The Rosetta Stone contains the same text in three different scripts (hieroglyphs, Demotic, and Ancient Greek). That's nothing even remotely similar to what can be found in the VMS.

If you mean it contains its own hints toward the writings in other forms, I can agree to a point, since I think I understand some of the imagery, but it has not yet been of help in figuring out the text, so I just don't know.

As others have mentioned, I think we are going to need more from you to determine what you mean, precisely, in order to be able to better answer you.

Well, we could invent stuff up like:

The best case scenario in the vms would be a fainted marginalia that has a voynichese word rewrited in 2 or more additional languages.
But it is like fantasy land.

RE: VMS translation - Radim Dobeš - 03-07-2026

Except that there are many manuscripts out there with that format (normal text with a column of letters in the left margin)...

All the best, --stolfi
