Some Voynichy crowns - JustAnotherTheory - 12-02-2026 The object of this thread is to give a few examples of this particular crown found in the VMS: Here are a few from Geschichte des Kaisers Sigismund: And one from Légende des Trois Rois Mages: ___________________________________ Links to the manuscripts: Geschichte des Kaisers Sigismund, Teil 1: You are not allowed to view links. Sigismund is interesting because of his connection to Taccola. RE: Some Voynichy crowns - JustAnotherTheory - 12-02-2026 I just saw the thread about Taccola. Fascinating find. The findings above though, were not anything to do with Taccola or Sigismund in particular. RE: Some Voynichy crowns - Koen G - 12-02-2026 Ooh convergence. Did anyone ever look into whether a female figure ever wore a crown like this? Although I wonder to what extent that is necessary, given the overall lack of clarity over what the nymphs are. By the way, on the figure of Sigismund, apparently he is depicted with certain facial features (long face, long nose) which I can also see in the crowned nymph. This may very well be coincidental. Can you point me to the appropriate thread for discussion on what the nymphs are? I'd like to make an update to the comments that I made yesterday but I don't want to continue in that thread. If you want to propose a theory for what the nymphs are, you can just make a new thread for that. On women wearing this crown type, of course Barbara of Cilli (Sigismund's wife) is a candidate. Sale - 12-02-2026 The basic parts of this type of crown can be simplified to three categories. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. There's a head band round the bottom, and on top is the cross and arches signifying an imperial crown. Then there are those things in the middle. They are either crosses, or fleur-de-lis, or those cloverleaf shapes. This is the part that makes the difference. And the VMs artist used those triangle shapes instead. Those pointy shapes seem most similar to the so-called Eastern Crown. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. Historical connections have pointed to Austria in prior discussions. RE: Some Voynichy crowns - Aga Tentakulus - 13-02-2026 Friedrich had the crown and nose. You are not allowed to view links.
